To help students achieve high professional standards in a diverse and competitive job market, a multi-faceted curriculum is offered. There is a series of skill-based training courses in Chinese/English Translation, Sight Translation, Consecutive Interpretation, and Simultaneous Interpretation. In addition, Translation Theories and Research, Media Translation and Editing, Translation Technology, and courses on Background Knowledge of a variety of fields are provided to broaden students’ horizons and make them well-rounded professionals.

Training in mass-media translation, multi-modal translation, computer assisted translation, and AI translation hones the students’ skills and enhances their proficiency for the ever-increasing challenges in this hi-tech digital age.

Study of translation and interpreting theories and research, together with the establishment of data banks of translation terminology and translation websites add to the productivity and depth of research and scholarship. Students will be encouraged to present papers in domestic and international conferences and participate in various academic exchange activities.

Seminars given by experienced translators and interpreters as well as student internships with business companies help ease students into the highly competitive job market.
