Conference Purpose
In the face of sociocultural shifts driven by globalization, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies, how should research in literature, culture, and language address contemporary challenges and open new research horizons? The College of Foreign Languages and Literatures (CFLL) at Fu Jen Catholic University is pleased to announce the 2027 Fu Jen CFLL Graduate Student Academic Conference. Under the theme "New Generation, New Perspectives: Interdisciplinary Dialogues Among Literature, Culture, Language, and Technology," we cordially invite submissions from domestic and international graduate students, as well as international students currently studying in Taiwan, to join us in exploring the multifaceted possibilities of humanistic inquiries.
This conference encourages young researchers to examine the relations between literature, culture, language, and technology through their own observations, cultural experiences, and core inquiries. We welcome interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and transnational comparative approaches. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, new interpretations in literature and culture, diverse developments in language and communication, translation and intercultural communication, and the impacts of AI and digital technologies on humanities research and language education. Investigations into issues related to globalization and social changes are also welcome.
The conference operates on a double-blind peer-review system. Every accepted paper will be assigned a professional discussant. Through presentations, inquiries, responses, and discussions, this event aims to help graduate students refine their research questions, methodologies, and arguments, thereby enriching their research outcomes and cultivating their academic presentation, critical thinking, and dialogic skills.
Continuing our ongoing academic collaborations with Kanto Gakuin University, Nagoya University, and Masaryk University. We anticipate that these dialogues across diverse cultural and academic traditions will broaden the international horizons of young researchers, foster sustainable research networks, and demonstrate the enduring value of humanistic research in response to contemporary changes.
